INC is enabling the formation of an Insurance cluster: facilitating the founding of new firms, as well as the expansion of existing companies and attracting foreign direct investment.

Our Expertise
Aidan Mahon
Aidan is the manager of the Insurtech Network Centre (INC) since 2019. INC is a platform to foster collaboration between Insurance Incumbents and Insurtech Startups, as well as facilitating access to the Research & Innovation resources of Carlow Institute of Technology for Insurance sector firms, and developing Insurance focused training and educational content.
Aidan has 15 years experience in Insurance & Financial Services having previously worked for Doyle Mahon Insurances and Bank of Scotland (Ireland) amongst others. He has also lectured in the Faculty of Lifelong Learning since 2009 across Business programmes.
Aidan holds a BBS (Hons) in Business (Economics & Finance) and a MBS by Research in Economics & Finance exploring economies of scale in the pensions industry amongst other issues. The title of the Research Masters was ‘Irish Occupational Pensions: An Overview and Analysis of Scale Economies’. This research combined significant social and economic policy analysis to examine Irish occupational pensions in a study that was the first of this type in Ireland. He is a keen reader, lawn bowler, underage hurling coach, rugby and golf fan and enjoys travel when the time allows. He also has a keen interest in restoring old cars and tractors.
